• Bought this for the front chain box on a 5th wheel trailer I am building. It looks pretty decent and is built well. The welds are solid and I do not see any pores in the welding. All it needs is a couple of bucks worth of foam sealer for the top edges and she will be good to go. I was rather surprised at the quality of the lock as well. Most of these style boxes have garbage locks that are useless, this one doesn’t. Seems like it will be a pretty good chain box.

Because I need to carry some heavy items such as wheel chocks, tie-down chains and chain binders, I had no confidence that 4 bolts, even with fender washers wouldn’t eventually pull through, so I cut some lengths of 1 X 4 lumber that fit up inside the boxes and then bolted and fender washered up through the pine and into holes that I drilled in the flatbed frame members. This made a nice solid install, in which I have significantly more confidence. Overall, I got exactly what I expected, for a very competitive price. They arrived within 2 days and were well enough packaged so that they sustained no shipping damage. I would definitely do this again.
• Box is about what I expected for the money. Well packed, it arrived undamaged although the condition of the outer cardboard box had me worried at first. Material is very thin, but that makes it light which is better for my application. I wanted an inexpensive aluminum box to mount on the back of my camping trailer to house a Honda 2000i and this fits the bill. The Honda must be tipped over quite a bit to get it through the door before setting upright, but it does fit. Only four stars because the box is not square, the sides “oil can” (are wavy) a bit, and the welds have a poor appearance and are of doubtful quality. Again, box is OK for the money but this is not a top end box.
• I bought these in March. So I have had time to use them. Today in a store I checked the thickness of $240 box the same size. Yeah it is thin also. You would not want a concrete block in the box. I went over 1100 miles with box on left full of clothes the one on right full of fishing stuff, like bucket with tackle box inside. We had go 42 miles up rough road to cabins. So they where tested. The locks work. I thought about generator inside, nah gas has a way of always leaking a little and then you wouldn’t want your clothes in there. Put chain or use cable they are hard to cut on your generator. My fishing stuff is worth more than my little generator, well its 2 inch too long anyway. I live on road that Chevy calls off road. Dust stays out.
